Aviation Technology Training Center

Aviation StudentThe facility has approximately 16,000 square feet of space that includes two general classrooms and six labs for Instructional purposes.

The facility houses all of the equipment and materials necessary to satisfy FAA requirements for certification of the program including four complete aircraft.

A testing center is located at the main terminal of the airport which will provide all of the written test requirements for certification.

 

Aviation Maintenance Technology Programs

Augusta Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology Program is an FAA 14 CFR Part 147 certificated training facility. We are approved to offer the following programs:

The length of the program depends on which one is chosen. The Complete Airframe and Powerplant course requires six semesters. The programs emphasize a combination of theory and practical application. Graduates are prepared to inspect, troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair all types of certificated aircraft, aircraft engines, and their systems and components.

Industry Facts and Figures

There are currently over 5,000 aircraft mechanics employed in Georgia and 120,000 employed in the United States.

Job growth for this field is predicted to be around 14% for the next five years.

The most growth is expected in air transportation, aerospace parts and product manufacturing, support activities for air transportation, agriculture and forestry, and non-scheduled air transportation.
