Augusta, GA, June 5, 2022

Augusta Technical College's Economic Development Division will host its third annual Mid-Year CSRA Economic Outlook Event on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Jack B. Patrick Information Technology Center Auditorium located on Augusta Tech’s main campus.

Dr. David E. Altig, Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be the keynote speaker for this event. In addition to advising the Bank president on monetary policy and related matters, Dr. Altig oversees the Bank's Research Division, which includes the Bank's team of economists, the Regional Economic Information Network, and the Bank's Community and Economic Development function.

Dr. Altig will provide national, regional, and local (CSRA) economic forecasts for the remainder of the 2023 calendar year. Topics will include GDP, inflation, interest rates, international trade, monetary policy, and unemployment.

As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed supports the monetary policy process by engaging business, banking, and community leaders throughout the district to gain a real-time understanding of the state of the economy and the challenges facing local communities.

"We’re excited once again to host Dr. Altig in Augusta to provide timely information on our macroeconomy. With so much uncertainty in the marketplace, we’re hopeful that he will provide some insights on what the trajectory of monetary policy will look like for the rest of the 2023 calendar year" stated College President Dr. Jermaine Whirl.

This event is free, but participants must RSVP to attend. Click here to reserve your seat today.
